James Bond: You Only Live Twice

An original prop used in the production of the 1967 James Bond picture You Only Live Twice starring Sean Connery as the suave spy.

Prop weapons such as this are used by the ninjas during the attack of Blofeld's (Donald Pleasence) volcano lair during the climatic sequences of the movie and can also be seen earlier at Tiger Tanaka's (Tetsuro Tamba) training school. Based on a genuine MBA Gyrojet carbine of the period the non firing weapon is constructed from fibreglass around an interior metal framework and painted to imitate a wooden gun with metal parts.

The weapon measures approximatly 32" in length and exhibits signs of paint and edge wear consistent with heavy production use and age.

An incredibly rare and displayable artefact from the early years of one of the most celebrated franchises in cinematic history.
