Warden (Patrick McGoohan) painting
An original painting used on screen in the 1979 prison classic Escape from Alcatraz starring screen legend Clint Eastwood.
The painting hails from the memorable scene where the warden (Patrick McGoohan) discovers that Doc (Roberts Blossom) has painted a portrait of him resulting in him removing his painting privileges to which Doc responds by severing his own fingers.
This is the original screen used painting of the warden from those scenes, accomplished in acrylic paint on canvas which is mounted to a hand made frame of wood. The painting is of incredible quality and bears an excellent likeness to McGoohan, the only one created for production it can be screen matched perfectly with every detail consistent with the one on screen.
The painting measures approximately 28" x 22" and remains in excellent screen used and uncompromised condition.
An incredibly rare and significant artefact from this well received American classic.
