NeverEnding Story (The)

An original film strip used in the production of The NeverEnding Story, the 1984 fantasy epic directed by Wolfgang Petersen.

This is an original film strip utilised during the production by the special effects department, filmed in the VistaVision format using motion control the film shows four frames of the Ivory Tower in a special effects shot which combined a large miniature with a large background created by matte painting supervisor Micahel Pangrazio, camera filters and a lamp for the sun, this filmed entirely in camera with four separate exposures.

The film measures approximately 6" x 1 3/8" and remains in excellent vintage condition, extremely fine. A high resolution scan of the entire strip similar to the one presented in the final image can be provided to the buyer at their request.

An interesting production artefact from this fantasy classic.
