Vanir helmet - Terminus
An original helmet used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.
This Vanir helmet was used in the 1982 serial Terminus starring Peter Davison as The Doctor. The helmet is constructed from fibreglass with a bronze effect paint finish and features a liftable visor which is hinged to the top with a plastic acetate affixed to the interior behind the eyes. The helmet is complete with its original material valance attached with leather thong to the neck area with the interior bearing some foam padding to aid the wearers comfort.
The helmet remains in excellent production used condition with only very very minor paint wear to the extremities revealing traces an orange gel coat which is favorable as this is the main tell of a genuine helmet of which numerous replicas exist on the collecting market, there is also some hardening to the material valance although the condition is generally very fine throughout.
Arguably one of the finest surviving examples of an original Vanir helmet from this Davison adventure.
