Doctor Who

An original prop used in the long running science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the 1989 serial The Curse of Fenric starring Sylvester McCoy as The Doctor is this ULTIMA machine used to decode German messages. The prop was custom made by the BBC Visual Effects Department and is intricately constructed from mixed materials to include wood with applied switches with the mechanism being metal bicycle gearing with affixed lettering on black foam. The body of the prop would have once housed a motor which was removed by the effects department for use on subsequent productions.

The prop remains in good screen used condition while lacking some of the applied mechanism letters and exhibits light wear from studio use. This impressive piece measures approximately 13" wide, 8" deep and 10" high.

A very displayable artefact and central plot device from this cult science fiction series.
