Doctor Who

An original costume used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the 1977 serial The Robots of Death starring Tom Baker as The Doctor this skirt was worn on screen by Pamela Salem as Toos in various scenes. The skirt was bespoke made for the production by Jean Hunnisett costumiers who were responsible for much of the principal character wardrobe for the serial. Constructed from shimmering fabric with green highlights the skirt features a highly decorative gold waist band which is adorned with various faux jewels and stones of plastic and an ornate centre section of metal. To the interior the skirt features a Jean Hunnisett costume label which is hand inscribed 'PAMELA SALEM, TOOS'.

The skirt remains in excellent vintage screen worn condition throughout with no noticeable damage, extremely fine.

A fine example of principal character wardrobe from a highly regarded serial of this cult science fiction series.
