London premiere quad poster board
An original poster used in the promotion of Thunderbird 6, the 1968 science fiction picture directed by David Lane and the second feature film based on the popular television series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.
This board was utilised at the premiere of the movie which took place at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square, London in July 1968. The piece comprises of a genuine British quad poster featuring colourful artwork by noted comic artist Frank Bellamy which depicts Skyship One in addition to the iconic Thunderbird craft and characters such as Lady Penelope and Brains, this has been mounted on a piece of 15mm chipboard by the production, likely marginally trimmed when mounted with the quad measuring approximately 39.25" wide and coated with thin plastic to offer some protection. To the rear of the board are various holes to the edges used to mount it at the time with the hanging now present having been added at a later date for display.
The board measures 39 3/8" x 30" and remains in good condition with the fold lines of the quad present but generally unnoticeable due to having been mounted since new, wear to corners and bottom due to age and handling but with extremely minimal paper loss, some soiling to the plastic coating due to age and storage with no effort having been made to remove this but it almost certainly could be cleaned without compromising the condition of the poster, overall good.
A highly displayable artefact from the Anderson's final Thunderbirds production.
