Thunderbird 5 computer device
An original computer device used in the production of the 2004 science fiction film Thunderbirds, a live action remake of the popular 1960s Gerry Anderson television series of the same name.
Custom made for the production the prop comprises of a hard plastic case which folds out to reveal a simulated computer device, the case features a carry handle with metallic style plate to the exterior with the warning 'PLEASE ENSURE RESTRAINTS ARE SECURE DURING ZERO-G'. The opening part of the prop contains a simulated LCD screen with keyboard and ports with the interior of the body featuring mode screens, speaker and on/off switch which operates scrolling lights on the mode screen powered by wiring and battery packs concealed within the main body of the prop. It is also dressed with various decals including 'TB5' for Thunderbird 5.
The device measures an impressive 22" in length when opened and 13" wide, it stands approximately 6" tall. The prop remains in excellent working condition with some scratching and wear to the exterior surfaces from production use.
