Thomas face appliance
An original engine face created for the production of the popular children's television series Thomas and Friends.
This is one of a number of appliances used during the production on the miniature engines, the faces on which could be interchanged to allow the crew to alter the characters expressions depending on their mood. For the lead character of Thomas this face appliance is cast in resin with an airbrushed paint finish and eyebrow detail with holes for the eyes as these were part of the engine model miniatures and controlled by servos. The rear of the face appliance features the cut out where it would fit on to the miniature engine and is inscribed with the number eleven in red pen, the prop is expertly finished to a high standard.
The face appliance measures approximately 1.75" in diameter and remains in excellent production used condition with no paint wear.
A rare example of a screen used principal character face appliance and instantly recognisable artefact from this much loved children's television series.
