Stranger (The) / Red Dwarf

An original miniature used in the production of The Stranger, the BBC Film club drama and Doctor Who homage starring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant.

This spacecraft was built by BBC Visual Effects designer Mike Tucker for director Bill Baggs for the production of the first Stranger instalment Summoned by Shadows, it was later reused in the Series VI Red Dwarf episode Psirens and can be seen in the spaceship graveyard where it is investigated by the scouter. Constructed from numerous plastic EMA parts the impressively designed and complex craft features a weathered paint finish incorporating tape, transfers and kit part detailing, a hole to one end allowing the miniature to be rigged for filming.

The miniature measures an impressive 25" long and remains in very good screen used and vintage condition lacking a number of minor detail pieces but generally fine.

An exceptionally rare and highly displayable artefact from this well received homage and a fine example of miniature building.
