Phantom of the Opera (The)

An original vintage still from the production of The Phantom of the Opera, the 1925 silent film adaptation of Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel starring Lon Chaney.

This vintage original publicity still measures 8" x 10" and shows an enlarged frame from the movie evidenced by the in photograph imperfections to the borders. To the verso the still features various hand inscribed annotations including the name of the movie in pencil and is ink stamped 'NOV 7 1925' thus guaranteeing this an original first release still.

The still remain in good condition exhibiting some edge wear and pinning to the corners, the roughness of the top edge and measurement suggests that 1/8" has been carefully removed, excellent considering the vintage.

An extraordinarily rare artefact from the production of this classic silent picture.
