Lost World (The)

An original vintage still from the production of The Lost World, the 1925 silent fantasy classic directed by Harry O. Hoyt and featuring pioneering stop-motion animation by Willis O'Brien.

This vintage original gelatin silver black and white publicity still measures 8" x 10" and shows executives from production company First National Pictures admiring a dinosaur skeleton built for the movie. To the verso the still features a paper snipe which is type written with a description and names the individuals present in the photograph, below this someone has made further notes regarding them, these hand inscribed in pencil, additionally inscribed " THE LOST WORLD" in pencil to the top.

The still remains in very good untrimmed condition, exhibiting some minor corner bumping, minor paper loss to the top right corner, surface fine with minimal marking, generally excellent considering the vintage.

An extraordinarily rare artefact from this highly influential classic which will forever remain a landmark in cinematic history.
