Taxi miniature
An original miniature used in the production of the 2004 satirical comedy Team America: World Police.
These New York taxis can be seen used on the Times Square miniature set during the movie. The miniature appears to be a commercially available die cast car which has been modified by the production for use on set to include a yellow paint job with black highlights and the addition of decals to the doors. The most notable modification is the addition of working front and rear lights which are powered by batteries housed in the rear of the vehicle and operated by a push switch found underneath. The prop features opening front doors and bonnet which reveals the wiring for the head lights and has the remains of the string used to pull the vehicle on set. The drivers seat features some glue residue where a miniature figurine was presumably added for filming.
The taxi measures an impressive 9" in length and 4" wide, it remains in excellent production used condition with some minor paint chips. The front and rear lights are in full working order when operated by the switch with the original battery pack still present to the interior of the prop.
A highly displayable miniature prop from this hilarious and well received picture.
