Doctor Who

An original prop used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the uncompleted and unaired serial Shada starring Tom Baker as The Doctor which was intended to be broadcast in 1980 this TARDIS medical collar can clearly be seen worn by Professor Chronotis (Denis Carey) as Romana (Lalla Ward) tries to stabilise him before his death. Constructed by the BBC Visual Effects department the collar is scratch built from acrylic and features a large panel to the front with wiring to the interior and a collar which splits at the back allowing the prop to be placed around the neck, this having an integral button which activates the lights when closed, further detailed with paint and tape.

The collar measures approximately 8.5" in diameter with the front panel being around 4.5" wide, it remains in good screen used condition lacking some tape detailing and minor parts.

A highly displayable and unique artefact from this classic science fiction series.
