Space: 1999

An original SFX breakdown used in the production of the cult science fiction series Space: 1999 produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.

From the Year One episode Space Brain this is an original SFX breakdown utilised by noted visual effects artist Brian Johnson during the filming of the special effects sequences. The nine page document provides a breakdown and analysis of the special effects shots required for the episode and features a number of annotations inscribed in Johnson's hand while a number of shots have also been crossed out by hand. Headed with the title of the episode and dated 5.12.74 the document is bound by a staple to the top left corner.

The SFX breakdown remains in acceptable condition with edge wear and creasing, the last two pages have become detached with the final page partially missing, otherwise good. from the private collection of visual effects artist Brian Johnson.

A rare and interesting example of a special effects breakdown which clearly saw heavy use during the production of this acclaimed Anderson series.
