Muppets from Space

An original prop used in the production of Muppets from Space, the 1999 science fiction comedy featuring characters created by Jim Henson.

This landing leg can be seen used as the aliens arrive at Cape Doom in the climactic sequence of the movie in a miniature effects insert shot as the spacecraft comes in to land. Constructed from wood this large scale miniature features a weathered metallic paint finish with lights surrounding the upper section and vents to the lower one of which conceals a switch to operate the lights, screw holes are present to the top where the remainder of the leg was attached during filming. A foam covering to the base conceals a panel which could be unscrewed to access the interior but we have not opened this is it would mean the removal of the foam however there is no obvious reason why the LED lights would not be functional if the battery pack was replaced which is obviously now flat.

The miniature measures a very impressive 24" x 24" and remains in excellent production used condition exhibiting some minor edge and paint wear, generally fine.

A highly displayable artefact from this classic franchise.
