BFG (The)

An original costume used in the production of The BFG, the 2016 adventure picture directed by Steven Spielberg based on the novel by Roald Dahl.

This nightdress was custom made by the production for used by Ruby Barnhill as Sophie who can be seen wearing it for a large amount of the movie with it arguably serving as her principal costume. Constructed of pink material patterned with imagery such as kites, flowers and birds the nightdress features a lace trim to the collar and elasticated sleeves with four buttons to the front, one obviously differing as seen on screen. To the upper back of the costume is a small intentional slit, likely for use during wire work where a harness was required.

The dress remains in excellent production used condition throughout with no noticeable damage, very fine.

A rare and recognisable example of principal character wardrobe from this well received fantasy adventure.
