Doctor Who

An original costume used in the production of the long running science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the 2006 episode New Earth starring David Tennant as The Doctor this is an original costume worn by Adjoa Andoh as Sister Jatt, one of the Sisters of Plenitude who run the hospital. The costume was bespoke made for the production by noted industry wardrobe suppliers Angels the Costumiers and is a take on a religious habit. The four piece costume consists of a floor length light grey gown with hook and eye fastening to the rear which is worn underneath a contrasting creme tabard with velcro fastening to one of the shoulders. The costume also features a collar with hook and press stud fastenings to the rear and a belt of white cord. The interior of the gown features an Angels the Costumiers wardrobe label which is hand inscribed 'DR WHO' and 'ADJOA ANDOH' in pen.

The costume remains in excellent production used condition with some minor staining to the front of the tabard which we have not attempted to remove, otherwise very fine.

This represents a rare example of principal character wardrobe from the new series of this long running science fiction production.
