Full Metal Jacket

An original helmet cover used in the production of Full Metal Jacket, the 1987 war picture directed by Stanley Kubrick.

This helmet cover is one of a number customised by the production for filming. The cover is constructed from camouflage material which has been intentionally distressed by the production and hand inscribed to feature a calendar to the front with 'SHORT' to the back indicating the soldier, or short-timer, has less than two months to serve. For display purposes this original cover has been placed on a genuine Vietnam era helmet with interior liner and is held in place in the traditional manner.

The helmet cover remains in very good production used and intentionally distressed condition, overall fine.

A rare and displayable artefact from the production of this highly regarded war picture.
