Sharpe

An original clapperboard used in the production of the historical television drama series Sharpe starring Sean Bean in the title role.

This production used traditional style black wooden clapperboard with metal hinged clap stick features the name of the production 'SHARPE II' on an applied etched plastic name sign with the names of director Tom Clegg and cameraman Arthur Wooster achieved in the same manner. The board features several layers of tape to the bottom and bears the hand inscribed date '6th DECEMBER '93' from its last use during the production with a further piece of tape inscribed 'DAY-INT-EXT' applied to the verso.

The clapperboard measures approximately 10" x 8" and remains in good condition with edge and paint wear from use during the production and some corrosion to the clap stick hinge.

A displayable example of the iconic clapperboard which clearly saw heavy use during the production of this well received television series.
