Sarang base floodlight miniature
An original floodlight miniature used during the production of Moon, the acclaimed 2009 science fiction drama directed by Duncan Jones and starring Sam Rockwell.
To light the Sarang base the model unit created operational floodlight miniatures which can be seen on the model set throughout the movie. Built by Bill Pearson and Steve Howarth this floodlight is one of only four made for production, constructed from mixed materials to include a perspex base with brass rods and four LED lights assembled on the top which lit the Sarang base, the miniature is dressed with various wiggets and finished in grey paint. These lights are wired through the body of the miniature with the wires having been cut close to the base when removed from the model set thus the functionality of this feature is unknown, the base of the model features four holes where the miniature was attached on set with the underside signed by Bill Pearson.
The miniature stands an impressive 19" high and remains in excellent screen used condition. The final four images show the lights on the model set and under construction in Pearson's workshop during the production at Shepperton Studios.
Presented here directly from the collection of Moon model unit supervisor Bill Pearson, The Prop Gallery COA supplied with the item will also be signed by Bill and accompanied by a high quality 7" x 5" photographic print of him with the item.
An recognisable and displayable model miniature from this already cult science fiction masterpiece.
