Sam Tyler (John Simm) television set
An original prop used in the production of Life on Mars, the hit television drama series starring John Simm and Philip Glenister.
Throughout the series Sam Tyler (John Simm) frequently sees and hears things from his future 'real' life through telephones and television sets, this is one of several such televisions sets used in the series and can be seen used on screen most notably in episodes five and six of series two. The vintage 1970s era Pye StudioCOLOUR television set is constructed from wood with a detachable plastic rear features channel selection buttons and knobs to control volume brightness and colour with a pop out tuning drawer.
The television set measures approximately 24" x 17" x 16" and remains in excellent cosmetic condition lacking the volume knob with the cathode ray tube removed from the interior for reasons unknown, this rendering the set non operational.
An interesting talking point from this very well received and multi award winning series.
