Gladiator

An original prop use in the production of Gladiator, the 2000 historical epic starring Russell Crowe under the direction of Ridley Scott.

Swords such as this can be seen used by Roman soldiers in Germania and by gladiators in the arena. Constructed from metal the sword features a turned wooden grip, guard and pommel and is accompanied by a scabbard of wood covered in painted material with brass detailing and a leather strap.

The sword measures approximately 30" long and remains in excellent condition with wear consistent with production use and some light staining to the sheath, overall fine.

A highly displayable artefact from this multi Academy Award winning masterpiece and modern day classic.
