Roman dagger
An original Roman dagger used in the production of Ridley Scott's historical epic Gladiator starring Russell Crowe.
Daggers such as these can be seen in the opening sequences where General Maximus (Russell Crowe) leads the Roman army to victory against Germanic tribes at Vindobona. Constructed from hard rubber with a leather strap and is meticulously detailed with the handle featuring an Eagle head. The piece displays signs of wear and two of the side lugs are missing due to heavy production use. Being a stunt version the prop is constructed in one piece and the dagger does not withdraw from the sheath.
The piece measures 15" in length and 3.5" at its widest point, not including the straps.
An impressive display piece from this Academy Award winning masterpiece.
