Refinery spires/Nostromo antennae
Original model pieces used in the production of the 1979 science fiction classic Alien directed by Ridley Scott with design from legendary Swiss surrealist H. R. Giger.
Spires such as these were first used to detail the original gothic style Refinery filming miniature, the design of which was changed at the request of Ridley Scott after a visit to the model shop at Bray Studios. After this model was reworked a number of these detailing sections were used as antennae on the large Nostromo filming miniature. The main body of the pieces are turned in brass with the lower base sections being EMA tubing dressed with kit parts, the exceptionally detailed pieces are a testament to the incredible lengths the model team went to whilst creating and detailing the miniatures. The pieces measure approximately 10" long and remain in good condition.
Exceptionally rare artefacts from this Academy Award winning masterpiece which is considered among the greatest science fiction movies of all time.
