Untouchables (The)

An original prop from the production of The Untouchables, the 1987 gangster picture featuring an ensemble cast under the direction of Brian De Palma.

This parasol was obtained by the production for the sequence where Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner) and his team raid the warehouse in search of liquor only to be humiliated when discovering only a parasol in the crate. The parasol is of traditional waxed paper construction and features a hand painted design with a wooden handle and interior struts, although of exacting construction with an extremely similar design this is not the exact example handled by Costner in the final cut of the movie.

The prop measures approximately 23" long and remains in good vintage condition with some minor wear and damage to several of the interior struts, the outer paper of the piece featuring some minor holes but generally in excellent condition.
