Production used concept design - Charlie & Grampa's adventure
An original concept design used in the production of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, the 1971 picture starring Gene Wilder under the direction of Mel Stuart.
This is an original production made photostat copy of the original rendering drawn by noted art director Harper Goff as he designed the various elements of the picture, signed by Goff with the date '70' beside the concept features the title 'CHARLIE and GRAMPA'S ADVENTURE'. The illustration details a sequence where Charlie and Grandpa Joe find themselves in the roof of the chocolate factory having floated there after consuming the Fizzy Lifting beverage, in search of a way down they were to walk along a pipe where Grandpa slips and it is that frame which we see in this concept design, the duo were then to slide down the pipe and land in a bed of cotton candy before rejoining the rest of the group, this idea would later be simplified to what would become the scene in the Fizzy Lifting room, likely owing to the difficulty of achieving the sequence practically.
The concept design measures an impressive 16" x 12" and remains in excellent production used condition, once rolled now stored flat, overall very fine.
An incredibly rare example of original production material from this highly regarded classic.
