Doctor Who

An original prop used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the 1986 serial Terror of the Vervoids starring Colin Baker as The Doctor this is an original pistol as seen used by various characters aboard the Hyperion III. Custom made for the production by BBC Visual Effects Department assistant Paul McGuinness the prop is fabricated from vacuum formed plastic pained yellow which is dressed with tape and kit parts, a blue barrel of perspex illuminates when the button to the top is pressed, this functionality remaining in working order and powered by a battery which can be housed in the handle.

The prop measures approximately 7" x 6.5" and remains in very good production used condition with minor wear from handling and lacking the battery cover, generally fine.

A highly displayable artefact from this cult science fiction series.
