Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

An original concept model used in the production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the 2007 picture starring Johnny Depp under the direction of Tim Burton.

This is an original concept model built during the production design process for the pie shop run by Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter) who aids Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) by processing the corpses of his victims in to meat pies. Constructed largely from balsa wood the highly detailed model features a hand inscribed sign with the second floor containing a chest of drawers and the barber chair on top of an operational trap door, the removable upper floor wall is removable and not fixed with no evidence that it ever was, this features a mirror to the inside wall to be opposite the chair. The model is entirely hand made and superbly detailed with a weathered paint finish and is a testament to the artistic talents employed on this picture.

The concept model measures approximately 10" x 6" and remains in excellent production used condition with some light wear and lacking some minor detail with a more notable piece seemingly missing from the top floor, otherwise very fine.

A highly displayable production artefact from this critically acclaimed picture which won the Academy Award for Best Art Direction.
