1922 German premiere programme
An original premiere programme for Phantom, the 1922 German Expressionist cinema directed by F. W. Murnau.
This is an original premiere programme from the original 1922 release of the movie, the 16 page programme is string bound between front and rear covers of paper which are wrapped in a thin tracing paper like material which is printed to the front with the logo of the movie and writing credit to Gerhart Hauptmann. To the interior the programme contains biographies of Hauptmann with cast credits with imagery of director F.W Murnau and stars such as Alfred Abel, best known for his portrayal of Fredersen in Fritz Lang's 1927 classic Metropolis, Lil Dagover and Grete Berger.
The programme measures approximately 10" x 6.75" and remains in excellent condition its age considered with some flaking to the paper covering and delicate edges, well archived for over a century it remains fine to the interior.
A fine artefact from the production of this classic of the German Expressionist movement the rarity of which cannot be overstated.
