Outland

An original clapperboard used in the production of Outland, the 1981 science fiction picture starring Sean Connery.

This production used traditional style black wooden clapperboard with hinged clap stick bears the movie title 'OUTLAND' in addition to the names of director Peter Hyams and director of photographer Stephen Goldblatt as cameraman which are hand inscribed on tape. The clapperboard has spaces where the scene and take number could be marked for reference and exhibits some heavy signs of chalk residue from use during filming. The board features various tape to the bottom which is hand inscribed with the date 11th October 1980 from its final use during the production and to the rear the board features a Samuelson shot log which is hand inscribed with various details and other tape strips from previous use.

The clapperboard measures approximately 8" x 6" and remains in good vintage condition exhibiting wear consistent with heavy use during filming.

A rare and highly displayable artefact from this cult science fiction thriller.
