Mire mask - The Girl Who Died
An original mask used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.
From the 2015 episode The Girl Who Died starring Peter Capaldi as The Doctor this original Mire mask was custom made for the production by noted effects house Millennium FX. Constructed from latex rubber the mask features a lamprey style design with three rows of sharp teeth, a gauze to the centre of the mouth is designed to aid vision for the wearer with an expertly applied airbrushed paint finish completing the creatures design. The mask is presented on a bust constructed from rigid polyurethane foam which is stamped 'NEILL'S MATERIALS' to the front, a specialist supplier of effects related materials to the industry.
The mask measures approximately 16" high and 16" across the shoulders with the entire bust standing an impressive 21", the mask remains in excellent production used condition, soft and supple to the touch with the exception of the extremities of the neck area, this is extremely minor, generally fine.
A highly displayable creature head from this cult science fiction series.
