Michael Chandri (David John Pope) jacket
An original costume used in the production of Star Cops, the 1987 BBC television series penned by prolific science fiction writer Chris Boucher.
This costume was made for use by David John Pope as Michael Chandri in the episode Intelligent Listening for Beginners. Created by costumier Alexander Carey the zip up jacket features the moonbase patch to the right arm with pocket detailing to the chest and press stud fastening cuffs, labelled to the collar on makers label '38 Chest', 'CHANDRI' and 'STAR COPS' with further tag alongside.
The jacket subsequently had its patches removed with 'DENSON' and 'CUSTOMS OFFICER' added to the chest and further customs officer patches to the shoulders for its reuse in the episode Little Green Men and other Martians where it was worn by Peter Neathey as Customs Officer Denson.
The jacket remains in excellent screen used condition throughout.
A fine wardrobe artefact from this cult BBC science fiction series.
