Description
An original costume design used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.
From the 1980 serial The Leisure Hive starring Tom Baker as The Doctor this is an original costume design for Mena portrayed by Adrienne Corri. Accomplished in paint on thick artists paper this highly detailed design was created by noted series costume designer June Hudson, it features a large illustration of Mena to one side with two Argolin to the other and features a wealth of hand inscribed notes regarding the costumes construction by Roger Oldhamstead and Sally Willis at BBC Workroom, headed 'THE LEISURE HIVE, DOCTOR WHO' and signed 'JUNE HUDSON, 1980' to the bottom right.
The costume design measures an impressive 22" x 15" and remains in very good vintage condition, overall fine.
A rare example of an original concept design from this cult science fiction series.
