Vanity Fair (TV - 1967)

An original costume design used in the production of Vanity Fair, the 1967 BBC drama adaptation starring Susan Hampshire.

This is an original costume design for the character Miss Matilda Crawley portrayed by Barbara Couper, accomplished on artists paper in pen and pencil by costume designer Joan Ellacott. The design artwork features a number of annotations with the name of the actress to the top left corner and is hand inscribed 'VANITY FAIR, EP II, MISS CRAWLEY' with further notes and sizes, to the verso is a comprehensive description of the costume inscribed in Ellacott's hand.

The costume design measures approximately 10.5" x 14.5" and remains in excellent vintage condition with only very minor wear and toning, very fine.

A fine production artefact and a nice example of original artwork from this well regarded BBC adaptation.
