Manned space module filming miniature - Space Cyclops
An original filming miniature used during production of the 1980s British science fiction television series Terrahawks which was produced by Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson in conjunction with Christopher Burr.
This manned space module filming miniature was used on screen in the episode Space Cyclops, constructed from mixed materials to include plastic and resin with a perspex cockpit window which houses a pilot figurine the miniature features a grab arm which articulates in two places. The model is heavily detailed with numerous kit parts and small decals with the top housing two bulbs which are wired to light through the rear of the miniature, having been connected to a 9v battery these are revealed to remain in working order. The miniature has a hole running through the middle of the cockpit to enable it to be rigged for filming and exhibits a weathered paint finish.
The miniature measures approximately 20" in length with the cockpit diameter being approximately 9", it remains in good condition while lacking some minor detailing in areas which does not detract from what is a stunning example of an Anderson series filming miniature
A rare and highly displayable miniature from Gerry Anderson's final puppet series.
