Lorne Peterson personal storyboard - Mine cart chase
An original storyboard used in the production of the 1984 picture Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the second instalment in the popular Indy franchise.
This storyboard is a production issued copy of the original rendering and was utilised at noted special effects house Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) during the production of the visual effects work. The storyboard depicts a frame from the now iconic mine chase sequence is titled 'INDY II' and dated 'NOV 02 1983' to the top left and features a large illustration which was likely the work of ILM visual effects storyboard artist Stanley Fleming, below are a list of elements relating to the shot to include the use of stop-motion, lava and animation enhancement with the shot number MC 53. This storyboard was issued to ILM model shop supervisor Lorne Peterson who was a recipient of the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for his contribution to the picture.
The storyboard measures 11" x 8.5" and remains in excellent production used condition exhibiting only a minor rust mark, overall very fine.
A highly displayable example of original production material from one of the most highly regarded and iconic franchises in cinematic history.
