Total Recall

An original prop used in the production of Total Recall, the 1990 science fiction action picture starring Arnold Schwarzenegger under the direction of Paul Verhoeven.

This reactor model miniature was used for the sequence where we see Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) on top of the generator after doing battle with Richter (Michael Ironside) with this atmospheric shot achieved by compositing live action footage of Quaid shot against bluescreen with a forced perspective miniature of differing scales together with a matte painting. The highly detailed large scale miniature was built by Stetson Visual Services and is moulded in resin with a green paint finish and features rods to the top and various panel detailing, the prop has been filled with foam post production likely due to its delicate nature with the resin moulding being relatively thin.

The miniature measures an impressive 17" x 17" and stands approximately 24" high, it remains in good vintage production used condition with some damage to include splitting and various parts of material loss to the corners.

A displayable and recognisable miniature artefact from this Academy Award winning science fiction classic.
