Wilby Conspiracy (The)

An original script used in the production of The Wilby Conspiracy, the 1975 picture starring Sidney Poitier and Michael Caine.

This production used script comprises of approximately 130 pages which are bound by brass split pins between front and rear covers of high quality green board with the front cover embossed 'THE WILBY CONSPIRACY' in gold lettering. This script was issued to noted special effects artist Kit West who would go on to become an Academy Award winner for his work on Raiders of the Lost Ark. The script is heavily annotated throughout in West's hand with numerous notes regarding the various prop and effects requirements, relevant sections of text have also been underlined throughout, the inside page is hand inscribed 'KIT WEST' to the top right corner with two telephone numbers underneath. The script bears numerous revisions printed on white, yellow and pink pages which carry various dates to include 9/11/73, 11/15/73, 11/21/73, 1/3/74, 1/28/74 and 1/2/74 with the main script being dated November 21, 1973. Further accompanied by two further pages, one bearing the details of the principal actors and a photocopied page with address and contact details of various crew members.

The script remains in excellent condition throughout with minor edge wear from its use during the production, a high quality example of an original script used by a noted special effects artist this represents a rare artefact used during the production of this well regarded picture.
