Katharine (Emma Thompson) crown
An original crown used in the production of Kenneth Branagh's 1989 adaptation of Henry V based on the play by William Shakespeare.
This crown was bespoke made by leading industry costumiers Bermans & Nathans for Emma Thompson as Katharine, daughter of Charles VI. The elaborately designed crown is constructed around a metal framework and is intricately detailed with various braiding, faux pearls and precious stones, it features a suede headband to the interior with hooks to locate in the hair at either side and a small sticker hand inscribed 'F' for front to ensure it was worn the correct way. Henry V remains one of the most highly regarded Shakespeare adaptations and saw Phyllis Dalton receive the Academy Award for Best Costume Design.
The crown remains is remarkable production used condition, very fine.
A incredibly rare and displayable artefact from this highly regarded Academy Award winning adaptation.
