Prototype game board
An original prototype game board used in the production of Jumanji, the 1995 fantasy adventure picture starring Robin Williams under the direction of Joe Johnston.
This is an original prototype game board created by the production during the design process for the central plot device used throughout the movie. The board is constructed from plywood lined with foam core board and features a centre section of solid resin to represent the crystal ball with a gaming path of inlaid rubber surrounded by intricately designed leaves and branches which are hand sculpted in clay, this design being slightly more elaborate than the final screen used version while the gaming path is relatively similar. The sides of the board feature holes where it seems likely hinges once held prototype versions of the fold out lid in place.
The board measures an impressive 16" x 12" and remains in very production used condition with some wear to the hand sculpted clay parts and general wear to the plywood surround, overall fine.
A significant, highly displayable and recognisable artefact from the production of this well received box offish smash.
