Treasure Island

An original costume used in the production of Treasure Island, the 1990 television film based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel starring Charlton Heston and a young Christian Bale.

These are original sailor slops created by leading industry costumiers Bermans & Nathans and worn by Christian Bale as Jim Hawkins. These traditional style slops are constructed from cream cotton and feature wide legs and a fall front with two pockets and button fastenings. To the interior the slops feature a Bermans & Nathans costume label which is type written 'CHRISTIAN BALE 00053, JIM HAWKINS, TREASURE ISLAND'.

The slops remain in generally excellent condition with some light wear and staining from use during the production and lacking one button to the waist.

A fine and rare example of principal character wardrobe from this highly regarded adaptation.
