ILM production used storyboard & fourth draft script page - Death Star trench
An original storyboard and script page used in the production of the 1977 science fiction picture Star Wars, the first instalment in the classic franchise directed by George Lucas.
This storyboard is a production issued copy of the original drawing by effects illustrator and designer Joe Johnston and depicts the Death Star trench in the climactic sequence of the movie. Utilised at Industrial Light and Magic during the production of the visual effects shots it carries various information relating to camera movements in addition to a description of the action taking place. This is accompanied by an original script page from the fourth draft screenplay dated January 1st 1976, its content includes dialogue which ultimately went unused and describes the shots during of the Battle of Yavin which correspond to the storyboard, hand inscribed annotations in red pen relate to the storyboard numbers for each shot.
Both the storyboard and script page remain in excellent production used condition, very fine.
A nice pairing of original production material from one of the most influential and highly regarded franchises in cinematic history.
