Blake's 7

An original concept artwork used in the production of the BBC science fiction television series Blake's 7.

This conceptual artwork was created by BBC Visual Effects Department Designer Ian Scoones, constructed in collage style with multiple layers the artwork shows the cathedral featured in the episode and is entirely hand painted. Interestingly the miniature used on screen was built from this design by Academy Award winning special effects designer Brian Johnson (Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, Alien, Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back) who bumped in to Scoones in the bar at Bray Studios and hastily constructed it from plasticine. The artwork is accompanied by two vintage original 10" x 7" colour photographs taken during the visual effects shoot.

The artwork measures approximately 11.5" x 9" and remains in excellent production used condition, tipped to scrapbook page, photos very good with residue to the verso, otherwise fine.

A very fine and highly displayable example of original concept artwork from this cult science fiction series.
