Blake's 7

An original concept artwork used in the production of the BBC science fiction television series Blake's 7.

From the 1978 series one episode Mission to Destiny this is the original hand drawn concept artwork for the Ortega freighter. Created by BBC Visual Effects Department designer Ian Scoones the artwork is accomplished in pen on paper and features two elevations of the craft with various hand inscribed notes including the name of the ship and design notes with the date 'NOV 77' below Ian Scoones' signature.

The artwork measures approximately 14" x 9" and remains in very good vintage condition with some glue residue to the top edge and newspaper clippings to the verso having been removed from a scrapbook, these featuring largely unfavourable reviews of the series and dated January 10, 1978.

A rare example of original concept artwork from this cult science fiction series.
