Ian Scoones hand drawn concept artwork - The Curse of the Claw
An original artwork used in the production of Ripping Yarns, the 1970 television series penned by Michael Palin and Terry Jones of Monty Python.
This artwork was hand drawn by BBC Visual Effects department designer Ian Scoones and relates to the establishing shot for The Curse of the Claw which utilised a miniature effect for Sir Kevin Orr's (Michael Palin) house. Accomplished in ink on paper the the artwork features hand inscribed notes on how the shot would be achieved to include the use of a hardboard cut out with lightning effects, this is backed on a page from Ian's personal scrapbook and includes the addition of a newspaper cut out.
The artwork measures approximately 8" x 8" and remains in very good condition tipped to page.
An extremely rare artefact from the production of this cult television series.
