Towering Inferno (The)

An original concept artwork used in the production of The Towering Inferno, the 1974 disaster picture starring an ensemble cast led by Paul Newman and Steve McQueen.

This is an original hand painted conceptual artwork believed to have been created by production illustrator Nikita Knatz. Accomplished in paint on artist vellum the colourful and highly detailed artwork depicts Doug Roberts (Paul Newman) and Michael O'Halloran (Steve McQueen) in the climactic sequence as they prepare to blow the water tanks.

The artwork measures approximately 22.5" x 13.5" and remains in fair vintage condition with pin holes present from use during the production, paper loss to one corner, a 2" tear to the left which has been taped to the verso and several creases to the one side. The artwork would benefit from being professionally framed and ships rolled.

A rare and highly displayable example of original production material from this Academy Award classic.
