Location filming sign
An original location sign from Hammer Film Productions, the noted British production company best known for its horror output.
This is an original location sign used by Hammer Film Productions, the sign is constructed of quarter inch plywood and is entirely hand painted to both sides with the name 'HAMMER' in large red lettering inside white arrows pointing in opposite directions. Interestingly both sides of the sign were originally painted with the arrows pointing in the same direction but this was over painted allowing the sign to be used to point either left of right, this remaining partially visible.
The sign measures an impressive 18" x 6" and remains in excellent vintage condition with some minor edge and paint wear, obtained from the collection of Derek Whitehurst who served as assistant director on a number of Hammer productions including The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), The Horror of Frankenstein (1970) and several Dracula films of the 1970s.
An extremely rare and highly displayable artefact relating to this noted production company.
