Going home clinic attendant tunic
An original costume used in the production of Soylent Green, the 1973 science fiction thriller starring Charlton Heston under the direction of Richard Fleischer.
Tunics such as this can be seen worn by the male attendants at the government clinic in the memorable scenes where Sol Roth (Edward G. Robinson) decides 'going home' is his best alternative. The yellow tunic is in the style of medical scrubs designed to fit in with the welcoming clean environment of the clinic and features a zip front with pockets to either side and a makers label to the collar. To the interior pocket is a stapled Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio wardrobe tag of orange card which is ink stamped 'MGM' and hand inscribed with the number 3 in black pen.
The costume remains in excellent vintage production used condition with only a very minor stain to the shoulder, exceptionally fine.
An incredibly rare artefact from this highly regarded cult picture.
