Gladiator

An original clapperboard used in the production of Ridley Scott's historical epic Gladiator starring Russell Crowe.

This Panavision clapperboard was utilised by the second unit during production, etched 'GLADIATOR' followed by '2ND UNIT' the perspex clapperboard carries a wooden clap stick and bears the name of second unit director and director of photography Alexander Witt. The board retains some production markings including the date '6.7.99'.

The clapperboard measures approximately 11" x 9.5" and remains in excellent condition with some minor wear from production use including light surface scratching to the perspex surface, minor paint chips to the clap stick and some tape residue to the verso. However this light production wear in no way detracts from what is a beautiful example of the iconic clapperboard and one which clearly saw heavy use during filming.

This represents a highly displayable artefact from this multi Academy Award winning masterpiece and modern day classic.
